Elva Lois Dennison
Age 95, of Cave City, Kentucky, died at Signature Health Care of Hart County.

Daughter of:
Brother Irvin and Frona (Elmore) Kidwell

Wife of:
James Dennison. They were married September 30, 1950 in Horse Cave, Kentucky by Brother Manson Wells.

She was a licensed practical nurse having graduated from Chicago School of Nursing.

In her early years she worked as a nurse for Dr. Turner in Cave City, Kentucky and later in pediatrics at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

After she married she became a homemaker and later retired from Mallory Capacitor in Glasgow, Kentucky.

After retirement she was a volunteer for her granddaughter’s teachers at Caverna Elementary School and a lunchroom assistant.

Predeceased by:
Her parents; her husband; two sisters: Ethel Poynter and Oma Ray; one half-brother: Darrell Strode; one step-granddaughter: Christy Holoman; and one son-in-law: Steve Jolly.

She was saved on September 4, 1940 during revival at servant Valley United Baptist Church in which her father, Brother Irvin Kidwell was the pastor along with Brother Courtland Sanders helping in revival.

She joined Servant Valley United Baptist Church along with her sisters Ethel and Oma and was baptized by Brother Sanders. Later in November 1946 she moved her membership to Basil Chapel United Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her death.

Survivors:
One son: Steve Dennison (Melody); one daughter: Reva Jolly; one granddaughter: Amy Marie Burris (John); one great-grandson: Jacob Allen Jolly; four nephews: Dennis Poynter (Judy) and Leron Poynter, Danny Ray (Sandy) and Derick Strode (Cameron); one niece: Michele Strode; her beloved cat: Tommy; and many extended family members and friends.

Services:
Funeral services held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Basil Chapel United Baptist Church under the direction of Winn Funeral Home.
