Emily P. Alexander, a native of Houma (Montegue) and raised in Sorrell, LA and longtime resident of Port Arthur, Texas passed away at her home on Saturday, January 27, 2018.

Emily is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Alexander, Sr. and one son, Coleman Guy Alexander.

She is survived by her sons, Bernard Alexander, Jr., Charleston Alexander and James Lee Alexander; daughters, Carolyn Ann Alexander and Felicia Alexander-Branch; sisters, Elnora Hernandez and Alice Marie Broussard; ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Clarence Widow, Sr.; special friend and daughter-in-law, Doris Jean; godchildren, Melissa F. Williams and Pettis Sims; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church, 548 E. 15th Street, Port Arthur, TX with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Rev. L.W. Scott, Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
