Kenneth Wayne Barrett, 63, passed away Saturday, August 8th, 2020 in Abilene Texas. With family by his side the Viewing will be held at Abilene Funeral Home on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 6:00-8:00pm. A service will be held at Abilene Funeral Home with burial at Buffalo Gap Cemetery (bring your drink of choice to toast Ken) on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 10:00 am.

Kenneth served in the US Navy from 1976-1996 not only did he take part in every War during that time he was able to travel the country and world. He retired from the State of Texas prison system in 2011 and the city of Abilene in 2019.

Left to cherish his memory is his Wife; Robyn Van Zandt- Barrett, Daughters; Mika Pickett and partner Jessica of Tuscola, and Jace Babb of Tuscola, Mother June Mow and husband H, Sister; Ann Crosser and husband of Midland. He was proceeded in death by his father Donald Barrett and his step- daughter Mistie Nicole.

His grandchildren are as follows: Shelby, Brendon, Garrett, Braxton, M'Kenzie, Kaitlyn, Dakota, Kegan, Alex, Maxx, Zale, Whittaker, Letty, Cilian and Niko

Special people in his life were Mike, Donnie and many friends and family. He loved you all. He had a soft spot for his dogs Elvis, Diesel and Rainey who we sent before him.

"He was the love of my life, 8 and 1\2 years is not enough. He was the most loving, caring husband. Constantly worried that I had everything I needed and wanted. Ken was a great cook and loved to feed everyone. Ken loved his family and friends; he would drop everything for any of them. He wasn't perfect, but close. He was comical, told really corny jokes, loved fishing, hunting, dancing and working on his many projects and loving me with every ounce of his big heart." - Wife, Robyn Van Zandt - Barrett

Family and Friends will meet at Tina and Calvin Garrett's house next door following graveside services.
