Obituary for Richard Alan Bowers

Richard Alan Bowers was born January 23, 1963 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Russell and Ruby (Bender) Bowers.

As a young man, Richard worked for a truck stop, a paper mill, a metal shop and then worked with his father. He was a motocross racer in the 70’s and always enjoyed the Ponca City, Oklahoma track. In 1985 he started driving a truck, which he did for the rest of his life. He lived in Alabama for many years until moving to Florida in 2006.

In his spare time, Richard enjoyed college football, fishing and carpentry work. He also liked classic cars and of course, his cats.

Richard passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020 in Lake City Florida at the age of 67 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Russell.

Those left to honor Richard’s memory include his son, Aaron and grandson Elijah of Atmore, Alabama; mother, Ruby Bowers of Florida; brothers: Bob of Kissimmee, Florida, Roger of Theodore, Alabama and Randy of Foley, Alabama and many other family members and friends.
