Janet Burroughs Vinson, 88, died peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2020, with her daughter at her side. She has been joyfully reunited with her adoring late husband of thirty years, Kenneth Hayes Vinson in heaven.

Born July 29, 1932 in Conway, S.C., Mrs. Vinson was the daughter of the late Mr. Donald Lantham Burroughs and the late Mrs. Donald Burroughs Pitts. She was preceded in death by brothers Donald McNeill Burroughs and Lloyd Grantham Burroughs.

Mrs. Vinson graduated from Dreher High School and attended Rollins College. She will be remembered for her generosity, welcoming spirit, and feisty personality. She was especially proud of her Southern heritage. Mrs. Vinson was a great storyteller and motivator. She loved entertaining family and friends in her home. She was always happy to hold a baby and enjoyed reading to all.

Mrs. Vinson was a long-time member of Kingston Presbyterian Church and was a founding member of the Conway Hospital Auxiliary.

Mrs. Vinson is survived by her step-brother Lewis Wesley Pitts, Jr. of Columbia, S.C., her daughters Mary Donald Brinkley Boyle and husband Joe F. Boyle of Sumter, S.C. and Margaret Brinkley Sordian of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Mrs. Vinson dearly loved her grandchildren, Joseph Foster Boyle, Jr. (Jessica), Philip McNeill Sordian, Emily McRee Sordian, Mary Elizabeth Boyle (J.W.), and Charles Andrew Sordian; and her three great grandchildren Vinson Cole Barnhardt (Boyle), Aaron Louis Sordian, and Mary McLanahan Myers.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 11:30 A.M. at Lakeside Cemetery with Dr. John Brearley officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway.
