He is survived by his daughters, Crystal Cannon Wade and husband, Collin, of Greenville and Amanda Cannon Hardison and husband, Chris, of Winterville; the mothers of his children, Patricia Bowen and Janet Cannon, both of Greenville; his mother Barbara Vandiford Shaut of Greenville; brother, Patrick Arthur Cannon of Greenville; sister, Kathy Ann Cannon of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister-in-law, Amy Waddell Cannon of Chapel Hill; step-sister, Robin S. Conyers and husband, Wayne, of Raleigh; step-brother, Robert Michael “Bobby” Shaut and wife, Rita, of Wake Forest; niece, Alison Cannon Cox of Des Arc, Arkansas and nephew. William Christopher Cannon of Chapel Hill; one great nephew and two great nieces; a number of step-nieces and nephews and cousins; two very special friends, Randy Warren and Johnny Stallings; and many other dear friends.

Billy grew closer to Jesus through many spiritual leaders who contributed to his walk with the Lord and he is with God today. His biggest asset was his heart. His heart always remained open and full of love for others. He was the most forgiving and generous person towards anyone he met. For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten son; that whosoever believeth in him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting. John 3:16

Flowers and cards are welcome as a memorial to Billy.
