Jacob Edward Pope, age 35, of Janesville died unexpectedly on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at his home. He was born in Janesville on May 7, 1985, the son of Phillip D. Pope Sr. and Brenda Rothenbuehler Pope. He grew up in Janesville and graduated from Parker High School in 2003. Jacob was employed as a construction worker and a brick layer. Jacob’s smile could light up a room whenever he would enter. He was very caring to everyone and would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. I’m sure he has gone shirtless many times for helping people in need. He loved his daughter immensely. He loved Ashley Rosecrans and her children Ciah, Kenzie and Kash as his own. We would like to thank family and friends for all of their support during this time. Depression is real. Please find or talk to someone you are comfortable with. Don’t wait. Jacob Pope is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Dutcher; his father, Phillip D. Pope Sr:, his mother, Brenda K. Rotherbuehler; his brothers, Phillip Pope Jr. and Clayton Rothenbuehler; his sisters, Amanda Govan and Kristina Nelson; his grandmothers, Eva Bell and Sharon Daugherty. Jacobwas preceded in death by his step-mother, Tami Pope; aunt Linda Parson; grandfathers, Willie Pope and Roy Rotherbuehler; his aunt Lisa Conklin. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Christ the Rock Church, 2232 Hermitage Lane, Janesville. Visitation will be at the Church on Saturday, August 15th from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Private burial will in Baldwin Cemetery, Beloit Township at a later date. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
