MAQUON - Barbara R. Baker, 89, of Maquon, Ill., died at 8:50 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Ill.

She was born Feb. 5, 1918, in Bushnell, Ill., the daughter of Charles Burton and Sarah Lavada Lamb Seaman. She married Everett W. Baker on Dec. 23, 1939, in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1991.

She is survived by two sons, David and Elaine Baker of London Mills and Carl and Linda Baker of London Mills; two grandsons, Kenneth and Julie Baker of London Mills and Doug Nici Baker of London Mills; and four great-granddaughters, Lauren, Jane, Carrie and Katie.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.

She was born in Bushnell and raised around the Galesburg area. After marriage, she moved to the Herman area, where she lived most of her life.

She worked at Blue Bell.

She was a past member of the London Mills Auxiliary 470 and War Mothers.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Corman Memorial Home in Avon, Ill. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at Corman, Avon, Ill. Burial will be in the West Midway Cemetery, London Mills, Ill.

Memorials may be made to the London Mills U.M. Church and/or London Mills Fire and Ambulance Service.
