Funeral services for Charles “Gary” Fischer, 72, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at New Journey Church of God with visitation starting at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow at Small Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.
Gary passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020, in Tyler, TX.
Charles Gary Fischer was born on May 10, 1948, in Wills Point, TX, to parents, Charlie Fischer and Annie Opal Sims Fischer. He was a life-long resident of Edgewood and after graduating from Edgewood High School he attended Trinity Valley Jr. College. Gary married Dorothy Nell Gore on July 13, 1968, and they made their home in Edgewood where they raised their two sons, Jason and Adam. He was employed by Innocor in Terrell as a saw operator for twenty-seven years. Gary just retired in June 2020. He was a member of New Journey Church of God. Gary loved spending time with the grandkids, working in the garden and maintaining his yard.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Annie Fischer;
Gary is survived by his wife, Dorothy Fischer of Edgewood, TX; sons, Jason Fischer and wife, Melissa of Malakoff, TX and Adam Fischer and wife, Jennifer of Edgewood, TX; brother, Eddie Fischer of Dallas, TX; sister, Virginia Boyd of Edgewood; grandchildren, Trenton, Jolie, Brilynn, Aiden, Peyton and Kyndall; along with one great grandchild, Jase.
