James was born November 29, 1943 in Telephone, Texas, the son of Wilson W. Bruce and Mildred Wheless Bruce. He married Katherine “Kaye” Hilliard on June 1, 1962 and she preceded him in death Aug. 7, 1982. He later married Carol Ferguson on Dec. 4, 1999 at the Hebron Baptist Church in the Ambrose Community of Grayson County. James was a former firefighter with the Bonham Fire Department and worked for Equipment Depot. He enjoyed motorcycles and race cars and was a member of the Red River Valley Car Club. He also loved hunting and fishing. James was a member of the Living Word Church of God. He was preceded in death by his son, James Wilson Bruce on May 30, 1984 and his parents,
