John William Davis, age 78, of Chattanooga died Friday January 13, 2012 in a local health care facility. He was born October 14, 1933 in Chattahoochee, FL the son of the late George and Mildred Davis. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Joann and a brother George, Jr.. Mr. Davis loved the Lord and his family. He was saved as a young boy and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Davis was a past president of the Jaycees and avid football fan. He was involved in conservative politics. He attended the University of Florida where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. He was a US Army veteran, while he was in the army he would often visit orphanages to provide assistance. He worked as a civil engineer for the State of Florida for several years, and was the owner of Davis Site Prep and Paving, working on many large highway projects in the Miami area. Mr. Davis loved music and sang in gospel quartets.
