February 1957 - August 2020
Wanda M. Peterson transitioned to eternal rest on the 3rd of August surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is predeceased by parents Vernon and Reva Mason and brother Billy Vincent.
She is survived by husband Victor Peterson of 38 years, daughters Sonya (Derrick) Williams and Danielle Peterson, grandson Camren Williams, granddaughter Synnova Williams, brothers Chester Vincent, Bobby Ford, Larne (Stephanie) Bray, sisters Brenda Johnson, Jackie (Will) Burley, Theresa Ford, niece and nephew (Ericka Vincent and Chester Vincent Jr) along with many more loving family members and close friends, and her beloved shih-tzu's (Sadie and Lexie).
Raised in Trevose, PA, she shared wonderful memories about family and times of joy while growing up. Her character was shaped in that environment she'd say. She is a loving spirit seen by all who met her, and a spirited Philadelphia Eagles, pretzel, and hoagie fan.
She is a woman veteran having served four years active duty and 31 years civil service for the Department of the Army. Her passion is event planning, and was owner and operator of Zeenya Events from 1998 to 2015. She helped clients experience joy and lasting memories of baby showers, anniversaries, birthdays, weddings, and parties.
Wanda impacted the lives of so many with her infectious laugh, genuine loving nature, and she cared and loved with all of her soul. Her life journey cannot be summarized in a few sentences but she showed an immense amount of strength, resilience, joy, and realness. Her legacy is her life, and she told her grandson and granddaughter to continue in her memory. Wanda is truly missed and is watching over us.
Services to be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a date and time to be determined.
