Pearl was born January 26, 1919 near Drake, ND to Daniel and Elsie (Macheel) Senechal. When she was young, Pearl moved with her family to Minot, ND. She graduated from Minot High School in 1937 and attended Minot State Teacher's College majoring in Physical Education. During her high school years, she won state titles in tennis and softball and led her basketball and volleyball teams to championship games.
Pearl moved to Grand Forks in 1945 after spending time in Chicago and Seattle working in defense plants. She took a job at the Grand Forks Herald where she met her husband, Harold. They were married on December 12, 1945 in Saint Paul, MN. In the years following, she devoted herself to raising her children. Pearl was active in the St. Michael's Catholic Church Community for many years. After Harold's retirement in 1979, they were able to enjoy many years of golf, traveling and watching their grandchildren grow. Harold died on November 27, 1999.
Pearl is survived by four daughters and two sons: Judith Mock, Eagan, MN, Ellen (Don) Anderson and Jim (Cheryl) Ward, Grand Forks, ND, Dick Ward, Hutchinson, MN, Patty (Carl) Soldner, Burnsville, MN and Becky Peterson, Inver Grove Heights, MN. She is also survived by one sister, Ardis Aanestad, El Cerrito, CA, 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, Tommy in 1954, her parents and four brothers, Clem, Alton, Ellis and Leonard Senechal.
