His age was 67 years, 4 mo., 20 days. Of late he has been able to get about but his health was badly impaired and last Wednesday he passed away suddenly from the effects of heart failure. The funeral will be held this morning, Saturday, May 8th, from the residence to the Church of Ste. Genevieve, where a Requiem High mass will be said for the repose of his soul.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at Valle Spring.
Mr. Trautman was born in Ste. Genevieve, County on December 25, 1858, a son of the late Peter and Mrs. Monica Fallert Trautman Sucher. At the age of about twenty-years he came to Ste. Genevieve with his mother and has since lived on his farm north of town. September 8th, 1896, he was married to Miss Theresa Flieg of Zell. To them eight children were born, Veronica dying in infancy. The seven living children are Rose, Joseph Anton, Christine, Edwin, Raymond, and Louis. He also leaves two sisters, Mary, Mrs.Metcalf, of St. Louis, and Louise, Mrs. Reinhardt Stuppy, of Ste. Genevieve. His wife died on March 15th, 1914.
Mr. Trautman was a progressive farmer and citizen and his death is a distinct loss to the community and severe blow to his family and, friends. He was a loving husband and, father, a consistent Catholic, a good and honest man, and his bereaved ones have the sympathy of a wide acquaintanceship in their great sorrow. May he rest in peace.
