Surviving besides her husband Tom are two sons and one daughter, Charles and Mary Schmidt, Ann Arbor; Philip and Ginger Schmidt, Vienna, Virginia; Susan and Kevin Kelly, Charlotte, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Anna, Michael, Laurel, Audrey, Andrew, Trevor and Lauren; several nieces and nephews. Marcia was preceded in death by an infant son.
A private funeral service will take place at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. David Wichert will officiate with entombment to follow in Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or Ames United Methodist Church.
