Born on August 23, 1939, native of Lincolnton, North Carolina, Lynn was the son of the late Thomas Daily and Pearl Rose Crouse Jenkins.
Lynn is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou Jenkins of the home; two sons, Vincent Jenkins and Chris Jenkins (Crystal); two daughters, Paula Forbes and Starla Brown; one brother, Butch Jenkins; two sisters, Hazel Goins and Irene Fortenberry; six grandchildren, Amber Watson (Joe Ben), Lucas Forbes, Clay Jenkins (Rachael), Corey Jenkins, Lyndsey Gray (Cale) and Grace Brown; three great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.
Lynn was a retired employee of Carolina Freight Carriers where he worked for over 29 years; a United States Army Veteran having served 3 years; and a faithful, devoted and beloved member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. You could always count on Lynn for a joke and a laugh. His love for his family was widely known and that love was returned to him in abundance. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 21, 2020 at Tabernacle Baptist Church on White Horse Road, Greenville, officiated by Pastor Joel Logan. The service will be livestreamed on the church's website (tbc.sc). Viewing for the public will be held at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. There will be no public visitation with the family.
Burial will be at 3:00 pm Friday, August 21, 2020 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton, NC with military honors.
Son, Chris Jenkins, and grandsons, Lucas Forbes, Clay Jenkins and Corey Jenkins, will serve as pallbearers. James Burns and Dale Sellers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
