Clifton J. Foster, 76, of Batesville died Wednesday, September 5, 2018.

He was born Sunday, January 18, 1942 in Bethesda to William Samuel and Annie Foster.

Clifton was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family and his grandchildren and enjoyed telling stories.

He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, J.W. Foster, J.C. Foster, Jimmy Foster, Author Foster; three sisters, Willine Keller, Christine Keller, Bernice Kessinger; and one son-in-law, T.J. Jernigan.

Clifton is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Colene Bell Foster; two daughters, Clifette (Jay) Rogers, Jeanette Jernigan; three grandchildren, Clif Jernigan, Jacob Jernigan, Candace Rogers; two great-grandchildren, Caden Jernigan, Brody Jernigan; sister, Barbara Griffin of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jay Rogers, Wendell Perkey, Jim Foster, Bill Keller, Clif Jernigan, and Jacob Jernigan.

A Funeral service will be held at the Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery in Bethesda.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
