Shirley Jean Warren, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 9th, 2020 at the Spruce Pine Brian Center. A native of Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Ruth Yates Annas. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Yolanda Ann Warren and two brothers-in-law: Charlie Adams and Charles Warren. Shirley was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She loved to read her Bible and when she was young and before her vision was impaired, she loved working with and taking care of children. Surviving is her loving husband, Floyd Warren; daughter, Shirley Teresa Wise of Spruce Pine; two grandchildren: William Earl Wise and Echo Marie Parker; two great-granddaughters: Khloe Parker and Haylee Wise; sister, Patsy Ruth Adams of Lenoir; brother, Daniel O'Dean Widner of Lenoir and a sister-in-law, Faith Warren, of Hanging Rock.
A graveside service was held August 11, 2020 in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery on Bent Road near Newland, NC. Pastor Josh Matney and Rev. Andy Stevens officiated. Pallbearers were: David Ollis, Farold Cook, Shawn Hillard, William Wise, Nick Parker and Dennis Woody. Yancey Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
