October 29, 1934 ~ August 8, 2020 (age 85)
Sumter, SC …….. Albert Lee Bailey, age 86, beloved husband of 63 years to Sharon A Bailey, died on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Covenant Place.
Born in Terre Haute, IN, he was the son of the late Charles and Clara Bailey. Mr. Bailey loved sports in high school where he ran track and played baseball and football. He retried from the USAF as a Staff Sergeant. Ret SSGT Bailey played fastpitch softball for the USAF along with his service to his country. He loved to hunt, fish, and play golf. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Surviving in addition to his wife Sharon are: one son, Anthony “Tony” A. Bailey, and his wife Wanda; two daughters, Sherri L. Jacobs of Sumter and Pamela B. Robinson and her husband Richard of Severn, MD; one brother, Herman Bailey and his wife Jean of CA; four grandchildren, Shannon Jacobs-Littledale and her husband William, Amanda Smith and her husband TJ, Eric Benenhaley and his wife Melissa and Robert Bailey and fiver great grandchildren, Madison, Kylor, Kason, Lucus and Ashton and one baby girl on the way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Herman and sisters, Imogene and Bernadine.
A graveside will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at 2:00pm in the Ft. Jackson National Cemetery with full military honors.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from 5:00-7:00pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
