RONAN, MT. -- Marsha Lynn Holmes, 53, passed away at her home on
October 22, 2001.
She was born December 26, 1947, in Ritzville, Washington to Ted and
Frances Smith. She graduated from Othello High School in 1966.
On January 2, 1967, she married her high school sweetheart and best friend for the last 35 years, Timothy Holmes.
Marsha's passion in life were her two children, Molly and Shannon, and her grandchiidren, Justin, Megan and Taylor.
She was the most unselfish, devoted wife, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend any person could ever ask for.
She was an avid outdoor enthusiast. Her interests included gardening, hunting and especially fishing. Her favorite place to be was with Tim at their cabin in Thompson Falls.
Marsha was a relentless worker and no task was too difficult. If there was a will, there was a way. She would and did do anything for anyone. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her parents, Ted and Fran Smith of Ronan; her loving husband, Tim of Ronan; daughter, Molly Harriman of Charlo; Son, Shannon Holmes and wife Cindy of Missoula; grandchildren Justin and Megan Harriman and Taylor Holmes; brothers, Mark Smith and wife, Suzi of Ovando, Geoff Smith of Othello, Washington, and Paul Smith of Moses Lake Washington; an Aunt, Alleda Arnold of Connell, Washington; numerous nieces and nephews; and her schnauzer, who never left her side.
She was preceeded in death by her grandfather, Edwin Smith, grandmother, Kate Snyder and brother, Ned Smith.
There will be no service at Marsha's request.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation in her name to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be, so He closed His arms around you and whispered, "Come with Me."
You didn't deserve what you went through and so He gave you a rest;
God's garden must be beautiful. He only takes the best.
When we saw you sleeping so peaceful and free of pain, we could not
wish you back to suffer that again.
