Beverly “Sissy” Dennis, 82, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, passed away on March 14, 2020. Sissy was born March 3, 1938 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Frances Turner and John Oliver Kelley.

She was also predeceased by her step-mother, Elnora “Babe” Kelley; a sister, Benita Martin; a daughter, Terri Lynn Allen; a grandson, Paxton Allen; and a great niece, Brinley Martin.

Sissy enjoyed dancing, hallmark movies, playing the slot machines and bingo. She was always up for an adventure and loved spending time with her family. Always grateful, she counted her family as her greatest blessing. Both generous and kind, Sissy was “Mom” to many people and everyone was always welcomed in her home.

Sissy is survived by her husband, Bill Dennis; her children, Cindy Weatherford, Waymon “Kip” Hankins, Tammy Dixon, Renee’ Martin, Mike Allen (Kristin), and Melissa Bruce; her brother, Robert “Mickey” Kelley; sister, Debbie Neumann (Chris); nieces Brittany Smith (Dylan), and Kelley Brettell (Hayden); and four step children Mark Dennis, Robert Dennis, Gaye Fulton, Mary Beth Giuffre and their families.

“Granny” to some and “Mimi” to others, she was loved and admired by her 13 granddaughters and 4 grandsons: Kama Hulme (Jake), Latia Fear (Bradley), Taylor Elrod (Courtney), Chandler Martin, Aubree Allen, Mikayla Martin, Logan Allen, McKenzie Ragsdale, Gracyn Martin, Blaise Martin, John Thomas Allen, Andrea Collum, Katie Raymond, Jessica Hankins, Rhonda Bolin, Sallie Wrigley and Zachary Dixon. She also had 14 great grandchildren, one great niece and one great nephew.

Sissy had a special love for dogs, and always had at least one or two.

Special thanks to her caregivers at Amberwood Health and Rehab.

Pallbearers will be Logan Allen, Chris Neumann, Bradley Fear, Tim Knox, Blaise Martin and John Thomas Allen.
