Earnest Evans, 72, of Benton, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2020 at a local hospital. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Mary Evans; parents, Goley and Lillie Evans; siblings, Zueleaka Blankenship, Blanche Allen, Bernice Detter, Lillian Graham, Reba Evans, Lewis Evans, Cletus Evans, Hubert Evans, Clifford Evans and Eugene Evans.

Survivors include his beloved children, Tonya (Jeff) Pennington, Tammy (Andy) Haulk and Jennifer Shelton; adored granddaughter, Brooke (Ethan) Boyd; great-granddaughter, Amara Boyd; sister, Inez Fain; sister-in-laws, Naomi Mantooth and Martha Brown.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Maxwell and Pastor Mark Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Delano Cemetery with Rick Mantooth, James Brown, Jeffery Evans, Harold Allen, Ethan Boyd and Mike Pike serving as pallbearers.

His family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 on Monday, August 10, 2020 and from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Higgins Funeral Home of Benton.
