arl Francis Wheeler, age 67, of Jerome, MI went home to be with our Lord on April 11, 2016 after he lost his battle with cancer. He passed away in his home, while being loved and cared for by his family. Carl was born on July 7, 1948 in Barnardsville, NC to the late Joe and Lucille Genevieve (Parks) Wheeler. He grew up in the Hanover-Horton area. He was a hard-working man, who provided for a family of 8 by working on the railroad for Conrail for many years. Carl enjoyed living on Lake LeAnn, boating, fishing, working on his classic truck, and woodworking. He also enjoyed attending as many activities that his grandchildren where involved in as he could. He had a heart full of love for family, and enjoyed gatherings, where he was always the life of the party, and he especially enjoyed having fun, while making others laugh, and relentlessly teasing. Carl is survived by his former wife, friend, and mother of his children, Judy Wheeler, who lovingly cared for him in his last days. Together they raised 6 children: Lisa (Jason) Magon, Debbie Wheeler, Rosie (Gary) Adkins, Josie (Jeff) Kennedy, Cara (Owen) Hamilton, and Benjamin Wheeler. As a result of this union, they have 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Carl is also survived by his siblings: Dennis Parks, Ann (David) Barnett, Jerry Wheeler, Kitty (Marty) Barnes, and Mazy (Mark) Bissinger; as well as, many well-loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by nephew, Nathan Lighthart According to his wishes, Carl has been cremated.
