Bonnie Jo Sullivan, 75, of State Highway 29, Johnstown, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at home after a courageous battle from surgical complications surrounded by her loving husband and children.

She was born in Amsterdam on October 13, 1944, a daughter of Hugh and Mildred Dreaney Fetterly and was a 1962 graduate of Amsterdam High School. Bonnie married Robert Thomas in 1963, and moved to Rome, NY. She resided in Johnstown since 1986.

Mrs. Sullivan was employed in various positions for the state of New York for thirty years, retiring in 2002, from the Tryon Residential Center in Johnstown.

She was a member of the Fit for Life group at St. Mary’s Cardiac Rehab program and enjoyed over fifteen years of lasting friendships and good times.

Bonnie enjoyed needlework, puzzles, and beading. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Timothy Thomas; three brothers, David, Hugh and Bob Fetterly; and a son-in-law, Donald Power.

Survivors include her husband of twenty nine years, Ray Sullivan; two sons, Robert (Beth) Thomas and Michael (Lauree) Thomas; a daughter, Susan Hayleigh Power; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Matt), Heather (Dillon), Becky, Owen (Serena), Michael, Robert and Tamara (Dillon); seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Colton, Hunter, Harper, Kohl, and Aldin; two brothers, Richard (Lisa) Fetterly and Jim Fetterly; two sisters, Donna Warren and Eloise Fetterly; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Beers and Darlene Fetterly; one uncle; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 111 County Highway 106 (corner of Route 29 and Black Street), Johnstown. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. In accordance with current health guidelines, facial coverings and social distancing are required.
