Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City, with Deacon Robert Lenz officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Karen is survived by her husband, Michael; their children, Tracey (Josh), Katie (David), and Tom (Jennifer); nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Karl "Bud" (Leslie); sisters, Anita (Don), Myrna, and Linda (Bill).
Preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Pauline (O'Donnell) Kolacia; twin sons, Timothy and Titus Ackerson; grandson, Zachery Ackerson; and brothers, Bill and David Kolacia.
Karen Ann Kolacia Ackerson was born September 13, 1948 at Fort Dodge. She graduated from St. Edmonds Catholic High School with the Class of 1966. On August 5, 1967 she was united in marriage to Michael Ackerson at Holy Rosary Church in Fort Dodge. In 1974, they made their home in Rockwell City. Karen worked at various places in the community including, Casey's, Kum & Go, Opportunity Living, and Jubilee Foods. Karen was greatly loved and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
