Campbell ~ Joy Ann Tate, 83 of Campbell, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020 at the General Baptist Nursing Home, in Campbell, Missouri.

Joy, daughter of Joy and Silvia Sutton Whaley, was born on Saturday, May 1, 1937 in Holcomb, Missouri.

She was a CNA having worked at the General Baptist Nursing Home and was a of the Assembly of God faith.

On January 1, 1955 in Orlando, Mississippi, she was united in marriage to Jerry Tate. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1990.

Her survivors include four children, Jerry Tate and wife, Anita of Paragould, Donna Abernathy and husband, Dale of Campbell, Jim Tate and Lisa of Paragould, Bill Tate and wife, Trish of Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Brandi Barnett, Brittany Howard, Kenny Abernathy, Virginia Tate, Mary Tate, Kyle Tate, Madison Tate, Mackenzie Tate; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ulene Rickie of Dexter; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Max Whaley, Donald Whaley, Jerry Whaley and one sister, Judy Franklin.

Visitation will be from 1 - 2 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m., with Reverend Bruce Vinson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell.
