Frankie “Frank” L. Caldwell, 64, of Benton Harbor, passed from this life, at his home on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Frankie was born on June 27, 1955, in Batesville, Mississippi to the late Albert and Minnie (Adair) Caldwell.
He married the former Vertilla A. Davis on December 27, 1981, in their home in Benton Harbor. Although no children were born of this union, Frankie became a loving father to Vertilla’s daughter.
Frankie was a foodservice worker for many years. He was a hard worker, often working several jobs at one time. Frankie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always brought laughter to those who met him, sometimes without even trying, he was a natural.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Minnie Caldwell; four siblings, Mary Thomas, Dorothy Bownes, Catherine Caldwell and Bobby Joe Caldwell.
Frankie leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Vertilla Caldwell of Benton Harbor; daughter, Annette Davis of Benton Harbor; two grandsons, Mark and Curtis Hankton; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Janie Champton of Batesville, Mississippi; Josephine (Lorenzo) Caldwell, Albert Caldwell Jr., Jimmy (Mary) Caldwell, James Caldwell, Willie Frank (Wonda) Caldwell and Robert (Sonya) Caldwell all of Benton Harbor, Michigan; along with a host of relatives and friends.
A Homegoing service will be held at 12:00 PM, on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Israelite Baptist Church, 1715 Highland Ave, Benton Harbor, Michigan. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place on Monday, November 25, 2019, at Crystal Springs Cemetery.
