Mrs. Donna Byrd Givens, 56, of McComb, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb.
Mrs. Donna was born on August 4, 1964 and was the daughter of William James Byrd and Sylvia Josephine McNeese Byrd. To Donna, family meant everything to her. She never met a stranger. She was a loving person with a contagious smile on her face and brightened up every room she walked in. She welcomed her children’s friends in her home and loved them like her own. She was a wonderful cook and was famous for her Chicken and Dumplings and her Gumbo. She was a loving wife, mother and Nonna to her precious grandbaby, Harper. She would often say “It’s Harper’s world, we just live in it”. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one great-niece, Lynlee Marrs.
She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Ricky Givens of McComb, MS; one son, Brandon Givens and Candice of McComb, MS; one daughter Brittany Givens of McComb, MS; one sister, Kris McKenzie and Gerald of Summit, MS; two brothers, James “Bo” Byrd and Donna of Summit, MS and Greg Byrd and Christy of McComb, MS; one brother-in-law, Marty Givens and Sherilyn of Brookhaven, MS; her in-laws, Walter Givens Jr. and Shirley of Magnolia, MS; one special uncle and aunt, J.L. and Billie Jo Spencer of Bogalusa, LA; one precious granddaughter, Harper Collins Givens of McComb, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Logan Givens, Garrison Givens, Justin McKenzie, Lane McKenzie, Toby Byrd and Caleb Byrd. Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Fuller, Blake Fenn, Landon Marrs, Simon Fry, Dustin Philebar and Brandon Slaton.
A graveside visitation will be held Monday, August 10, 2020 from 10AM until time of graveside service at 11AM at First United Pentecostal Church of McComb Cemetery with Rev. Terry Ballard and Rev. Marty Givens officiating and Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Due to the COVID-19, we are asking that masks are worn and social distancing is observed.
