Betty Ji Smith was born September 12, 1930, in Caro Michigan.
Date of death was August 4, 2020, at her home in Bethany, Oklahoma, at the age of 89 .

Betty moved to Bethany Oklahoma with her brother and sister-in-law in 1952, to attend nursing school because she was told in her home state of Michigan that she didn't have what it would take. As soon as she arrived to town, she met Charles Delbert Casey. They married July 3. Betty attended and graduated from nursing school in 1963, all while raising her 2 children, working and building a home there in Bethany. The day following graduation she began her career as Head Nurse of the Newborn Nursery at Deaconess Hospital, where she worked for 40 years as a Registered Nurse. Betty loved babies, she loved caring for others and she loved the friendships she made during that time of her life.
Delbert and Betty bought a farm north of Stratford in 1972 where they lived, farmed, and made other numerous friendships there, as well as in Ada Oklahoma, where they attended the Ada Church of the Nazarene until 2015. Betty attended Lake Overholser Church of the Nazarene until her passing.
She and Delbert were married for nearly 63 years.
Betty was a devout Christian woman all of her life. She loved selflessly and unconditionally. She truly loved others as only Christ could. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, nana, leader, mentor, prayer warrior and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, 8 sisters and brothers, father, mother.
She is survived by her daughter Karen of Bethany, son of Stratford, Granddaughter and husband, Danny and Vicki of Pauls Valley, Grandson, Chris of Hobbs, NM.
