Mr. Alphonse Becnel living in this parish presents in his capacity as administrator of the succession of the late Antoine Haydel and conforming to a directive rendered 31 May 1858 by the court of the 4th Judicial district of the state of Louisiana in and for the parish of St. John the Baptist
 
Mme Azélie Haydel Widow of late Marcelin Haydel also living in the parish of St. John the Baptist
 
The said Alphonse Becnel is qualified to declare that in conformity of said directive, he brings this day for the account of the succession of the late Antoine Haydel to the said lady Widow Marcelin Haydel the sum of $3000.
 
In consequence the said Alphonse Becnel is qualified to oblige by presenting in payment and reimbursement to the said lady Widow Marcelin Haydel the said sum of $3000 in five years of this date, with the reserved privilege to bring in payment and reimbursement the said sum to the said lady Widow Marcelin Haydel in all one part before the term of payment fixed.  Alphonse Becnel is qualified to pay annually to said lady Widow Marcelin Haydel on the said sum of $3000 the yearly interest of 5% per year.
 
And to assure the said lady Widow Marcelin Haydel the reimbursement of said sum of $3000 and that stipulated on this sum, the said Alphonse Becnel declares, affects, and obligates a special mortgage in favor of said lady, the slaves of which the names and ages follow and who belong to the succession of said late Antoine Haydel:
