Mrs. Anna Mary Devnich, age 83, dear wife of Paul Devnich, died at her home, Sunnyside Nursing Home, on Tuesday, February 19, 1991. Funeral services will be held from Acadia Drive Funeral Chapel (Eighth Street East and Acadia Drive) on Friday afternoon, February 22nd at 2:00 with Pastor Melvin Kempert officiating. The late Mrs. Devnich is survived by her loving husband, Paul; five sons and three daughters, Leonard (Viola) Devnich of Calgary, Jeanette (Harry) Lucas of Kelowna, Richard (Doreen) Devnich of Brooklin, Ont, Marion (Evan) Williams of Langley, BC, Calvin (Irvella) Devnich of Glendale, CA, David (LaVerne) Devnich of Moline, Ill., Douglas (Rene) Devnich of Oshawa, Ont., Marlene (Robert) Holdal of Lacombe, AB; 29 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Helen Hoffer of Billings, Montana., George (Irene) Korneychuk of Miles City, Montana; also numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Raymond in 1972; her parents Daniel and Pauline Korneychuk; two sisters, Mamie and Dorothy; her brother, Fred.

Anna was born May 17th, 1907 in Poland and immigrated to South Dakota, USA. A few years later they moved to Baker, Montana, where she grew up. In 1923 they moved to Max, North Dakota where she met Paul Devnich and later married on January 25th, 1925. In 1927 they moved north to Canada to a farm in the Readlyn District, Saskatchewan. They farmed and worked hard to make ends meet until moving from the farmhouse in 1966 to Moose Jaw where they commuted back and forth to the farm. They moved to Saskatoon in 1988, when she became a resident of the Sunnyside Nursing Home, and resided here until her passing. She was a soft spoken, kind and loving person. She loved to cater to her family. With her husband, children and grandchildren being very special to her. She had many friends through her life, which were very close and dear to her. Interment Service to follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Acadia Drive Funeral Chapel.
