Jerri Marie Nelson, 59, of Smackover, AR passed away Monday, July 20, 2020, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado.
Jerri was born September 29, 1960 at Warner Brown Hospital in Eldorado, AR to the union of Ronnie Nelson and Dottie Traylor Nelson.
She was proceeded in death by her father, William Ronnie Nelson, her brothers, Ronald Lee Nelson, and William Alton "Bill" Nelson, and the love of her life, Keith Andrew Leister, and her grandparents, Alton and Alma Traylor and Doris and Pete Nelson.
Jerri was a devoted member of the Norphlet United Pentecostal Church and was very loved by her church family there.
Although Jerri never had any children of her own, she nurtured and cared for all the children in her life. She bought every niece and nephew their first bicycle and first BB gun. She insisted on being the first person to hold all the babies and was the Lamaze coach for the births of all 6 of her great nieces and nephews.
She loved to laugh and was really a child at heart and her kind spirit could be felt by every living thing that she came in contact with. She couldn't turn away a stray animal or person in need.
She is survived by her mother, Doris Marie "Dottie" Nelson, her nieces and nephews: Mandy and Tony Primm, Kila and Paul Daly and great nephews and nieces, Nicholas, Ballard, Noah, Nate, Gracie, and Maddie and countless friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Norphlet United Pentecostal Church.
