Margaret Mary Newton, age 83, of Charlestown, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, August 05, 2020 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. She was born on July 10, 1937 in Lebanon, Kentucky. Mrs. Newton was a graduate of St. Charles High School. She then graduated from Spaulding University with a nursing degree and served as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Mary Immaculate Hospital and Spring View Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her son, William Ray Hardin; husband, Joseph Garland Newton; parents, John Robert Wheatley and Mary Ida Wheatley; brother, Donnie Wheatley; sister, Jane Smith.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Elizabeth (Michael) Owens of Charlestown, IN; son, Gerald Lee Hardin of Campbellsville, KY; three brothers, John Wheatley of Charlotte, NC, Butch Wheatley of Campbellsville, KY, Steve Wheatley of Lebanon, KY; three sisters, Rita Lamkin of Louisville, KY, Barbara McClain of Lexington, KY, Sarah Tabar-Walker of Lexington, KY; four grandchildren, Kelly Rivers, Carla Hardin, Brandi Owens, Casey Hardin.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday, August 07, 2020 at Bosley Funeral Home, officiated by Deacon Joe Dant. Interment to follow in Lebanon National Cemetery.
