Madeline Grace Harrell Cox of Elizabeth City died peacefully at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center Monday, May 30, 2016 at the age of 67. She was born on July 10, 1948 in Elizabeth City to the late Howard Harrell and Frances Harrell of Elizabeth City. She was retired from River City Software in Hertford.
Madeline is survived by her husband, Herman L. Cox; a daughter, Beth Cartwright (Doug) of Great Falls, Montana; a son, George Cox (Shelley) of Elizabeth City; six grandchildren, Lauren, Evan and Ava Cox, and Amber, Joel and Leigh Cartwright; and two sisters, Ramona Currie (Jack) and Theresa Swimme (Mark).
A memorial service will be Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Joseph Casteel officiating.
