Deborah Joy Baker 69, of Battle Creek, went to be with the lord on August 4, 2020.She was born, January 6, 1951 at Pennock Hospital, in Hastings, Michigan, to Peggy Spears and Gordon Crase.

Debbie attended Battle Creek Schools through 11th grade. In 1989, she went back to night school to get her diploma. Debbie married Mark Baker on Oct 19, 1968. She worked at Interbake Foods from 1979-1989, she went to work at Meijer on Columbia Ave. She was a greeter for 17 ½ years, and retired on Dec 26, 2015.

She is survived by two sons, Travis (Amy) Baker and Todd (Kristie) Baker both of Battle Creek; five grandchildren, Joshua (Kylie), Todd (Alli), Shelby, Emily and Samantha Baker, all of Battle Creek; 3 great-grandsons Jackson, Jesse, and Jace Baker; 2 great-granddaughters, Conley Joy Baker and Olivia Baker of Battle Creek; a brother Tim (Cindy) Wasson and nephew Ryan Wasson from Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Mark of 48 years; her Mother; brother, Rodney Wasson; grandson, Nathon Baker; sister-in-law, Linda McTague; grandparents, Eugene and Mary Spears and grandfather, Dr. Bertram E. Crase.

Debbie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies. She also loved going to garage sales, going out to eat and sitting around campfires.

In accordance with Deborah’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a family memorial service will take place at a later date.
