David “Dingus” Lee McGee, 59, of Ellsinore, MO, passed away August 3, 2020, at his residence. He was born in Marble Hill, MO, April 5, 1961, to the late Gliden Ray and Lula Gertrude (Humphries) McGee.

David “Dingus” Lee had resided for the last fifteen years, in Ellsinore with his brother Larry McGee and family. He was born of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed life, the river, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. David was an advocate for legalization of cannabis. He never met a stranger and everyone he met was a friend for life. David had the biggest heart and would help anyone in need. His nieces and nephews knew him as Papi and all of his friends knew him as “Dingus” McGee.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy McGee, and his sister, Brenda Schmitt.

David is survived by his daughter, Heather Cunningham of Anna, IL; his brother, Larry McGee of Ellsinore, his sisters: Barb Trankle of Marble Hill, Bonnie Whitehurst and husband Clayton of Iuka, MS, Bobbie Sims and husband Larry of Friendswood, TX, Billie Jo Grindstaff and husband Mike of Marble Hill, many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who will greatly miss him.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm, August 5, 2020, at Walton-Chapel Cemetery, Ellsinore, MO.
