Maude Daniels

Memorial services for Mrs. Maude Aldridge Daniels, 92, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2002, at I.H.S. Chapel in Minden.

Mrs. Daniels, a resident of I.H.S., passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, following a sudden illness. She was born May 20, 1910 in the Forest Grove Community in Milam County, Texas.

She was a devout Christian. Christ was always first in her life. She held many offices in her church life. She was a charter member of First Christian Church in Minden.

She belonged to the District 12 Cary Memorial VFW Post 7533, and its Ladies Auxiliary. She was trustee president advisor and held the office of senior vice president in 1992. She received an honor for her years of service to her country through this organization.

Mrs. Daniels belonged to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Webster Rebecca Lodge No. 18 I.O.O.F. She was an active member in her lodge and held many offices. She continued to be as active as she could for as long as she was able.

Mrs. Daniels was preceded in death by her husband, Newton L. Daniels; parents, Tram Aldridge and Laura Frances Overman Aldridge; and twin brother, Clyde Aldridge.

She is survived by three children, Ben Erle Daniels and wife Heidi of Kingston, Mass., Fay Eileen Shaw of Dubberly; and Newton Ray Daniels Johnson of Dixie Inn; grandchildren, Judith Lynn Salter and husband Randy of Heflin, Thomas Edward Shaw of Dubberly, Dale Wade Shaw and wife Susan of Dubberly, David Erle Daniels of Kansas, Robert Eugene Daniels and wife Jeannie of California, Justin Paul Johnson of Kent, Ohio, Newton Ray Johnson Jr. of California, Saretta Shawetta Johnson of Bossier City; great-grandchildren, Rachel Nichoel Willis and husband Shawn of Heflin, Jackie Faye Shaw of Dubberly, David Lee Shaw of Heflin, Chelsea Clair Shaw of Dubberly, Helea Hollis Shaw of Dubberly, Balea Daniels, Madison Daniels of Kansas, and great-great-granddaughter, Kelly Dawn Willis of Heflin.
