Funeral services for Kimberly Ann Sanders of Montalba will be in Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Horine officiating; burial will follow in Rock Church Cemetery. She bravely forged a battle against cancer for seven years.
Kimberly was born to Jerry "Hopper" Gray and Jerry Lynda Satterwhite Gray.
She grew up in the Blackfoot community and graduated from Cayuga High School. She was also a graduate of the Cosmetology program of Palestine High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Jason Sanders, and never spent much time in her cosmetology career. Her real passion was to become a mother- she was fortunate to have her dreams come true and was the mother of three children that she called 'the greatest thing she had ever done on earth'. After leaving the Blackfoot area, she and Jason made their home in Bartlett, Texas, later in Bentonville, Arkansas and finally returned to Blackfoot. As a couple they raised their children in church and took pleasure in working with the youth programs of their family church. In addition to raising her own three children, she treated many nieces and nephews as her own and they all knew they could depend on their Aunt Kim.
Kimberly's greatest passion was her family. She loved every aspect of being a mom and faithfully attended every extracurricular activity she could to support her children. She also loved traveling and planning vacations with her family and was devoted to capturing all those family moments with her camera lens. She was an avid lover of all things rustic and country. Another immense talent Kimberly possessed was the ability to decorate and floral arranging. Every summer she took great pride in decorating for Vacation Bible School because she wanted VBS to be the best it could be so more children would come to learn about God. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and proudly confessed her faith in God.
Kim is preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Gray and grandparents, Joe and Charlene Satterwhite.
Those left to cherish her memory are husbanad of 31 years, Jason Sanders; son Cody Sanders (Makayla) of Green Forest, Arkansas; daughters, Taylor and Peyton Sanders of Blackfoot; and her future grandson expected in November; father-in-law, Wayne Sanders (Nelda); sister, Laurie Jordan (Trey) of Dry Creek, La.; brother, Jody Gray (Bailey); sister-in-law, Wendy Gray; grandmother, Ruby Gray and brother-in-law, Kevin Sanders (Crystal) and a host of extended family and friends.
Those wishing to express their love in another form other than flowers can send donations to Friendship Baptist Church VBS Decoration Fund, 7220 FM 860, Montalba, Texas 75853.
Due to the pandemic, masks and social distancing are required at this time.
