Lloyd Robert Seipp, age 90, of Alden, MN died Monday, August 3, 2020 at his home, surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 7, 2020 at 10:30 AM St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, MN with Fr. Greg Havel and Deacon Gene Paul officiating. Face masks must be worn and social distancing will be observed. Interment will be at Alden Cemetery, with military honors accorded by the Alden–Freeborn Color Guard.
Lloyd Robert was born October 30, 1929 in Carlson Twp., Freeborn Co., MN, the son of Melvin and Elvina (Neilsen) Seipp. He graduated from Alden High School in 1947 and then attended Purdue University for one year before being drafted. Lloyd served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Lloyd married Rose Marie Staloch on May 28, 1952 in Wells, MN, and to this union 5 children were born. After two years at Cherry Point, NC, in 1954 he moved back home to Alden and built the family home. Lloyd was self-employed in home construction, and served his community as a member of the Alden school board, St. Casimir Church board, Alden Lion's club, Alden Fire Department and was a 60 year member of the Alden American Legion. He enjoyed his time with his family, traveling, hunting and playing cards. Lloyd was always building something and helping others who needed his skills.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Rose Seipp of Alden, MN; children: Mark Seipp of Mankato, MN, David Seipp (special friend Betsy Koss) of Farmington, MN, Terry (Lee) Seipp of Nisswa, MN, Ann Johnsrud of Westcliffe, CO, and Mary (Scott) Elmer of Savage, MN; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister Judy (Erv) Ulrich; sisters-in-law: Donna Seipp, Marlene Seipp, Gayle Staloch, Marlene (Tom) Steidler; brother-in-law Arnie (Joann) Wolfe; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Roy and Verle Seipp; sister Lois (Gene) Turtness; son-in-law Jay Johnsrud; brother-in-law Adrian Staloch, sister-in-law: Mary (George) Doyle.
