Ms. Parker passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, in Nacogdoches. She was born August 10, 1960, in Nacogdoches.
Rita was a devoted daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed family most. Spending time with her family always brought her joy. Whether it be spending the evenings with her mother and father, or spoiling her grandchildren, family meant the most to Rita. She also enjoyed time outdoors, flowers especially. One of her favorite things to do was to ride around town, gazing at the azaleas with her mother and sister. Another hobby of hers was the piano. From a young age, Rita enjoyed sitting behind the black and white keys and playing a tune. Among family and her hobbies, she was a caregiver at all times. She loved helping others, especially caring for the elderly throughout the community in various ways. Rita will be missed dearly by her family, friends, and all that knew her.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Heather Cody & husband, Tyler of Damon, Texas; son, Heath Parker of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Emma Lou Cody, Brinley Paige Cody, Heath Allen Parker and Ashlin Hooks; her mother, Betty Jean Henson McShan; sister, Nancy West & husband, Jim of Nacogdoches; nephews, Cory West & wife, Jody of Huntersville, North Carolina and Brandon West & wife, Heather of Little Elm, Texas; great niece, Ava West; and many other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Lee McShan and brother, David McShan.
