Arthur Oscar Hoch was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Hoch on December 18, 1891 at Galena Illinois. He lived and went to school in Galena until 1908 which time he moved to Storm Lake Iowa. Here he lived with Mr. and Mrs. August Hoch his brother at which time he started learning the watchmaker trade. He married Gladys Harvey on June 28, 1917, and two sons were born to them, Herbert A. Hoch and Harold R .Hoch. Art and Gladys moved to Newell in 1922 and were in business here until 1942 at which time they movedto California. Here he continued his watchmaker trade until his retirement in 1956. His oldest son Herbert died in 1951 in 1954 Mrs. Hoch passed away. Arthur Hock died at the age of 66 at the Inglewood General Hospital, Inglewood California on February 4, 1958. Surviving is his youngest son Harold and family and one sister Mrs. R. S. Schcaefer of Park Rapids Minnesota.
