Daren Ray Cook was born on June 23, 1958 to Juanita (Cochran) and James Cook. He was born and raised in Chickasha, OK where he graduated from Chickasha High School in 1976. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was Baptized at the age of 6 at First Baptist Church in Pocasset, OK. He was called home on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at his home in rural Chickasha.
Services for Daren will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha with services entrusted to McRay's Funeral Home. There will be a visitation on Sunday, August 2, 2020 from 2 pm to 7pm. The family requests that everyone wear masks and practice social distancing during these times.
Daren began working at Chickasha's J & W Grill washing dishes at the age of 12. He worked his way up through the business becoming a partial owner at age 19. At the age of 23, he bought the restaurant outright. While operating the grill, he supported and sponsored numerous teams and organizations as a great benefactor of the Chickasha area.
Daren was preceded in death by his brother Gary Blake, as well as his grandparents Lee and Ella Cook and Henry and Maggie Cochran. He is survived by his parents James and Juanita Cook of Chickasha; son Dustin and wife Nicole Cook and their children Chloe, Lily, Hudson and Ella of Blanchard, OK; daughter DesiRae and husband Ray Priddy of Ardmore, OK. He is also survived by sister Susan and Allan Bogle; brother Brett and Janet; as well as brother Tim and Jackie; niece Maddie; and nephews Trevor, Cody, and Braden all of Chickasha.
Pallbearers are Trevor Bogle, Cody Bogle, Braden Cook, Ray Priddy, Ronnie Eaton, and Glen Thompson.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery.
