In the early evening of June 15, 2020; Polly Anna Williams Johnson was given her wings to fly from this earthly life to her heavenly home. She was born on April 15, 1934 to the late Henry and Madge Robinson, one of fourteen children. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by five sisters: Patsy Robinson, Mary English, Lois Eggleston, Martha Murphy and Bernice Sharpe-Blake and six brothers: Albert, Melvin, Frank, Richard, John and Alfred Robinson; her first husband, Henry Williams and one daughter, Pernie Elizabeth Williams Hamlett.

Polly accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Antioch Baptist Church, Peaksville then she moved her membership to the New Life Baptist Church and later joined Shiloh Baptist Church where she served faithfully far over ten years. She served on the Usher Board and Hospitality Committee.

Polly was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, neighbor and friend.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her husband of ten years, Oscar Eugene Johnson; her children: Frances M. Tanner of Roanoke, Elwood A. Williams of Bedford and a daughter she co-raised, Tamika R. Robertson of Lynchburg; two stepchildren, Robert Johnson (Linda) of Maryland and Jeff Lawson (Denise) of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren: Mykia Spinner, Kegan Tanner, Kanvas Tanner and Kanye Scott; fourteen great grandchildren; two sons-in-law, Frank Tanner of Bedford and James Hamlett of Lynchburg; two sisters, Myrtle Leftwich and Rosa Carson (Robert) both of Bedford; five sisters-in-law: Brenda Robinson, Phyllis Robinson and Mary Robertson of Bedford, Norma Johnson and Mary Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; brothers-in-law: Joe Williams of Bedford, Lawrence Williams of Roanoke, George Johnson of Columbus, Ohio, Robert Johnson and Charles Johnson of Cleveland, Ohio; special friends: Annette Jackson, Hannah Johnson, Sheila Goodman and Ruth Singleton; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
