LA CROSSE – Dr. Dawn M. Mondloch-Polk, 40, La Crosse, formerly Oconto Falls, died suddenly Thursday afternoon, Sept. 19, 2002 at home of natural causes.
She was born Jan. 9, 1962 in Amarillo, Texas to James and Sharon (Bliven) Mondloch. She grew up in Texas and Spencer before moving to Oconto Falls in 1977 where she attended high school, graduating with the class of 1980. Following graduation from high school she entered the U.S. Navy where she served her country for six years. Upon her honorable discharge from service, she attended the University of New Orleans where she received her bachelor degree. She then entered medical school at Louisiana State University (LSU) and graduated with degrees in pediatrics and psychiatry, then served her residency in New Orleans.
Dawn loved all kinds of animals, especially horses, and while living in New Orleans had her own horse and did equestrian riding. Two years ago Dawn moved back to La Crosse and was currently employed as a psychiatrist with the Gunderson Clinic.
Survivors include her parents, Jim Mondloch, Oconto Falls and Sharon Leach, Two Rivers; one brother and sister-in-law, Kelly and Bonnie Mondloch, Oconto Falls, one nephew, Robert Mondloch; seven step-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents and an . {sentence not completed}
Visitation with the urn present will be held at Jones Funeral Service (920-848-2222) in Oconto Falls after 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002 until the time of services. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Clifford officiating. Burial of the urn will take place in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
