Audrey Shippey Turner, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 25, 2020.  She was born April 6, 1927 in Ben Wheeler, Texas.

Audrey is survived by her loving husband Curtis of 14 years; daughter Nancy Caraway and husband Mike of Seabrook; grandsons Derek Caraway and wife Laura of College Station, and Brandon Caraway and wife Wendy of Richmond; great grandchildren Matthew, Joshua, Andrew, Carly and Zachary.  She also leaves behind her sister Justine Jones of Ben Wheeler; niece Judy Walker and husband Arnold of Ben Wheeler; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Growing up on a farm in Ben Wheeler, Audrey and Justine helped their parents with chores and worked in the fields, learning responsibility at a young age.  After work was done, she and her sister had a great time playing in the woods.  She later lived in Houston and Pasadena Texas, and worked many years at Sears, retiring as Personnel Manager.

Audrey was a member of Christian Temple Assembly of God Church in Houston.  She came to know the Lord at a young age and was active in church all her life.  She loved Jesus and always had a heart for helping others.  Her hobbies were sewing, oil painting, doing crafts, and she really enjoyed playing games, especially "42".  Camping with the Heavenly Sam's RV Club was a favorite pastime, as well as traveling back to the "Derrick" farm in Ben Wheeler.  Her happiest moments were family get togethers.  She loved her family dearly, and prayed for each of us every day.  She will be greatly missed, but we know she is rejoicing with her Lord now.

Audrey is preceded in death by her first husband of 60 years, Earl Shippey, and her parents Floyd and Helen Derrick.

A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2020 at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas with Pastor Arnold Walker officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Niday Funeral Home.
