Donald D. Goodwin, 91, of Florissant, MO, formerly of Royalton, IL passed away at 11:29 p.m., Saturday, August 1, 2020 at his home.
Donald was born March 25, 1929 in Royalton, Illinois to James W. and Mattie Mae (Wesson) Goodwin.
He is survived by a daughter, A. Goodwin of Florissant, MO; a son, D. Goodwin, II of St. Louis, MO; granddaughter; a grandson; a dear friend; several nieces and nephews and friends.
His parents; three brothers, Lonnie Lee, William Ernest and James Goodwin and three sisters, Lavelle Webb, Betty Woolbright and Pat Stewart preceded him in death.
Mr. Goodwin was a member of the Bellefontaine Baptist Church in St. Louis.
He retired in 1994 as a Warehouse Supervisor from Sligo Steel in St. Louis.
He honorably served his country during World War II in the United States Army.
Donald loved life, was willing to help others and always had a smile on his face.
Funeral services for Mr. Goodwin will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2020 at the Blairsville Cemetery in Blairsville with military rites courtesy of the Zeigler and Orient American Legions and West Frankfort VFW. There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery prior to the services.
