George Phillip Townsend, III, age 72, of Live Oak, FL, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020 at the Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, FL. He was a native and life-long resident of Live Oak and a graduate of Suwannee High School class of 1965. George owned and operated the family farm and in his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, barbecuing and visiting with his family and friends. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church and Live Oak Elks Lodge #1165.
He is survived by three sons, Phillip George Townsend, IV, Live Oak, FL; Jason Adam Townsend, North Carolina; Darrin Daniel Townsend, Chicago, IL; three sisters, Jan Smith, Wellborn, FL; Carol King, Atlanta, GA and Lesley Fry, Live Oak, FL; one, half-brother, Perry Burnett, Vero Beach, FL and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held, 10:00 AM, Friday, August 7, 2020 in the Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. David McKeithen officiating.
