Brett was born October 6, 1995 in Sioux City,Iowa the son of Jeff and LuAnn (Watt) Johnson. He was born with special needs,and he defied all odds and expectations for the last 22 years. He graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School in 2014.
Brett loved watching Barney, football, playing on his computer, and listening to music, especially KG95. He would listen to Christmas music year round. Brett loved going to eat at Wendy's with his special respite friend Gay, eating mashed potatoes, bacon, chocolate chip cookies, and popcorn with M&M's. During the summer, Brett enjoyed swimming, jet ski, boat rides, and going in the wave pool at Wild Water West in Sioux Falls. One of Brett's favorite things to do was torment their dogs; Max, Buddy, and Buster. Brett loved his job and his coworkers at New Perspective Inc.
Survivors include his parents, Jeff and LuAnn Johnson; brother, Seth; and paternal grandmother, Betty Weikel, paternal grandfather, Gary (Val) Weikel; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brett was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Orville and Betty Watt; and paternal grandfather, PFC. Charles Johnson.
