Gwendolyn Emily Rhone Brown was born August 14, 1929, in Galveston, Texas. She received her education from the Galveston Public School system. After graduation she went on to become a CNA and worked for UTMB, where she retired from after years of service.
Gwendolyn loved to cook and life’s passion was taking care of her kids.
Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James E. Brown, Sr.; sons James Brown Jr., Cornell Brown and Bobby Joe Brown.
Left to cherish sweet memories of her life is her, sons, Charles Brown (Mary Jean Florence), John Michael Brown and David Anthony Brown; daughter, Sharon Denise Brown (2); grandchildren, Gerold Florence, Sr. (Sharitta), Charles Brown-Shinette, and Deatricia Shinette; great-grandchildren, Gerold Brown II, Jaiden Florence, Desiree Dunford, Tony Robbins, Tirek Robbins, King Merchant, Queen Merchant, Daniyah Merchant, and Jerome Howard; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
