Doyle was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late Everett Wexler and Mary Leatherwood Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cledith Dyer and a sister, Brenda Messer. After graduating from Pisgah High School in 1973, Doyle entered the United States Navy. After the navy, he worked primarily as a self-employed contractor in the Haywood County area.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Brown Hollar and her husband, Bruce, of Bridge City, Texas; three brothers, Charles Brown of Wellington, Florida; Fred Brown of Sparta, North Carolina and Billy Brown of Cruso; one grandson, Zach S. Hollar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
